SADE’S FIRST EXHIBIT
‘Sade’s First Exhibit’ was held in April 2023 to celebrate Sadé’s body of work thus far in conjunction with the milestone of her birthday. The pieces featured included a grid wall of her signature Chibi characters inspired by Japanese anime shows such as Attack On Titan and Naruto Shippuden and music artists like Nipsey Hussle, Drake, Billie Eilish and more. Additionally, nine larger illustrations were exhibited of Sadé’s “Morbid Maidens”. These are portraits of women, often drawn with only a head and hands or busts, that combine vibrant colour schemes and beauty with provocative imagery.
The event featured performances by local alternative R&B artist Jaymar (@jayvvar) and genre-bending singer/rapper JR (@jrdaisuki) as well as sounds by DJ Peameal (@peamealbacon). Refreshments curtesy of Redbull Canada and COPS doughnuts.
Sadé plans to put on similar events in the future in order to feature other queer and/or marginalized artists with similar styles and feature music artists within the community.

CHERRY DISCO NIGHTS X SADÉ’S STUDIO
Sadé’s Studio partnered with Cherry Disco Nights for an evening of imagination, community and carefree collaging. Through themed events, engaging activities like collage-making, and community projects like a group collage canvas, Cherry Disco Nights fosters a fun and social atmosphere that facilitates meaningful connections.
For this partnership Sadé designed individual outfits, hairstyles and accessories cut-outs for guests to build their own chibi characters. The founders of Cherry Disco Nights Maddy and Evelyn provided various magazines and supples for guests to create their own vision board of sorts to align with their custom chibi character. There were games, refreshments and photo opportunities throughout the the evening, which made for a night well spent and memories made!
